Tali塔利

一、African Balau English Name: TALI Common Names: 塔利、非洲菠萝格 Origin: Africa, Congo, Liberia, Cameroon, etc. 二、Timber Properties of Tali Stability: Tali wood is highly stable, with heartwood extremely durable and containing natural oils, resulting in low shrinkage and deformation coefficients. Landscape Applications: Its superior stability makes it a top choice for high-end outdoor landscape timber. Wear Resistance: Suitable for public spaces with high foot traffic due to its high abrasion resistance. Density: Air-dry density: 0.90–1.1 kg/m³; green (unseasoned) density up to 1.3 kg/m³, with a hard texture. 三、Physical Characteristics Luster: Strong natural luster. Grain & Structure: Interlocked grain; medium structure; very heavy and hard; high strength; large shrinkage. Workability: Difficult to saw, dulls saw blades easily; sawdust may irritate nasal and throat passages; good sanding, turning, and gluing properties. Durability: Highly resistant to decay and termites; slow drying, prone to warping and cracking. 四、Applications High-End Woodworking: Ideal for premium carpentry due to its excellent mechanical properties, durability, and dimensional stability. Furniture: Widely used in furniture and cabinetry, becoming one of the mainstream materials for high-end furniture. 五、Visual Attributes Heartwood & Sapwood: Heartwood ranges from yellowish-brown to reddish-brown with dark concentric stripes; sapwood is light yellow, 2–5 cm wide. Growth Rings: Indistinct. Bark: 1.0–2.0 cm thick, hard and brittle, prone to 块状脱落 (lump-like peeling); outer bark grayish-brown, slightly rough with obvious pits; inner bark dark brown. Surface Features: Wood surface and bark base exhibit ripple marks; extremely heavy and hard. 六、Outdoor Applications Preserved Wood: Processed into pressure-treated wood for outdoor construction (e.g., decking). Industrial Uses: Dark brown in color, hard and glossy, with dense grain—one of the renowned hardwoods. Used for ship keels, stem posts, tail posts, aircraft seat panels, and building columns. 七、Key Advantages Heavy, hard, stable, with attractive grain; heartwood pressure-resistant; termite-resistant. 八、Processing & Finishing High strength and wear resistance; smooth surface after planing; easy to paint; stable after drying. 九、Technical Details Luster: Slight natural luster. Grain: Deeply interlocked grain; coarse structure. Workability: Heavy, hard, high strength; very low shrinkage; good gluing, turning, and painting properties; pre-drilling required for nailing; may corrode metal. Durability: Resistant to decay; slow drying but highly stable. 十、Diverse Applications Heavy Construction: Suitable for heavy-duty structures, durable timber, bridges, port and dock materials, railway sleepers, heavy-duty flooring, vehicles, fishing boats, tool handles. Decoration: Interior decoration, heavy structures, flooring, joinery, carving, decorative boxes, and rotary-cut veneers. Dye Extraction: Textile dyes can be extracted from sulfur-colored deposits. 十一、Market Overview Availability: Commonly found in timber markets; classified as the natural 防腐木材 (防腐木) for outdoor use. Price: Higher than average pressure-treated wood, with high-quality Tali boards typically priced above ¥10,000. Superiority: Outperforms conventional preserved woods in corrosion resistance and durability, maintaining minimal performance/appearance changes in outdoor landscapes. Texture and Density Grain: Alternating longitudinal grain, possible surface burrs. Density: Very high, with air-dry density usually 0.9–1.1 g/cm³. Color - 显著的心边材差异 (distinct heartwood-sapwood differentiation): Heartwood orange-yellow or brown; sapwood light yellow. Global Bill of Lading Available for Sale
